CABIN CREW CURRICULUM PROPOSAL

FOREWORD
The work of a cabin crew member is more than just a mere job; it is a lifestyle. It is allowed you to travel around the world and stay in lavish hotels during your break, and it’s only normal for you to spend weekends in the most beautiful spots in the world. It is no wonder that cabin crew positions have become among the most sought-after in the world, and it is no longer surprising if many people are dreaming to be one too.

Becoming a cabin crew member is not easy. Like many other application procedures, you will have to go through a series of tests in order to qualify for the job. However, there is nothing to be afraid about when aspiring to become a flight steward or stewardess; the only secret to getting the job is by being prepared from day one.

The course programme at Jakarta Aviation Training Center do not offer secrets to ensure your acceptance towards becoming a cabin crew member; it serves as a practical guide for you to go through the cabin crew application process. The programme directs you to the areas which you have to work on in order to successfully pass each stage of the cabin crew application process. The whole cabin crew application process is truly a challenge, but our simultaneous preparation programme will definitely assist you to pass the test. It is just a matter of time before you find yourself flying from one country to another, living the job of your dreams

PROGRAM 1
Introduction to the cabin crew profession

This program is designed to introduce the audience of the Cabin Crew Profession in general. The aim of this program is providing an overview of the history of the cabin crew proffesion and how it evolved over the years.
It is an induction program to familiarize the participants about the responsibilities, reward, and the challenges of the profession. The program divided into the following session:

1) History and Origin of Profesion
2) A day in the life of a crew member
3) Benefits and challenges of the Cabin Crew Profession

PROGRAM 2
Preparation for the Assessment Day

This program is designed to assist the participants dealing with the different phases of cabin crew assessment process. The different phases or stages of cabin crew interviews will be laid out comprehensively to assist them understand the process easily. It is serve as a guideline to study the map of the whole cabin crew application process, which is very essential. The program includes:

1) The information of the cabin crew basic requirement
2) Assistance to the application process (CV creation, online application submission system, etc)
3) Preparation of the assessment day from walk-in interview, group discussion and exercise process, psychometric test, STAR (Situation, Task, Action, and Result) methods.

PROGRAM 3
English for Cabin Crew

This program is designed to enhance the English communication skills, vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammatical accuracy for all participants. It follows the real-time working routines of cabin crew, from pre-flight briefings to disembarkation process which includes operational procedures, challenging situation, safety demonstration, and emergency situation. The aim of this program is to provide confidence to the participants in using the correct manner of English in every situation which will help them using the appropriate English in routine and non-routine situations on-board or on the ground. the program includes:
1) English for interview process
2) English for group activities assessment process
3) Welcome on-board English including pre-flight briefing, formal and informal language, handling emergency situation and disruptive passengers.

PROGRAM 4
Grooming

This program is designed to assist the participants to improve their ability in implementing the highest standard of cabin crew grooming procedures because cabin crew is the image of the airline, therefore they have to be able to present their best performance. The program help to identify the appropriate attire for the whole process of cabin crew assessment day The program includes:

1) Introduction and preparation for potograph picture process
2) The Make-up Program
3) Hair-Do
4) How to Dress
5) The Accessories

PROGRAM 5
Introduction to Aviation Industry

This program is designed to explain the participants about the aviation industry procedures and regulations originate from and how they impact the roles and responsibilities of cabin crew. The idea is to provide the best understanding of variety of customer demands which affect the airline service procedures and regulations. The program includes:

1) Introduction to regulatory agencies and aviation regulations.
2) Custom and immigration for air travel
3) Aircraft familiarization
4) Introduction to Time Zone (GMT and 24-hour clock)
5) World airport and airline codes
6) Safety and emergency procedures
7) Aviation security

COURSE DURATION

The whole program expected to be completed within two (2) months which divided into 30 hours weekly period (06 hours daily from Monday to Friday). The last 30 hours is the assignment process to identify their improvement on all the competencies which are discussed in the class.
